Planning and Zoning Commission
The Pottawattamie County Planning and Zoning Commission is made up of citizens appointed by the Board of Supervisors to a five-year term.
The Planning Commission recommends to the Board of Supervisors amendment supplements, changes or modifications to the zoning and subdivision ordinances, as well as the Land Use Plan. Chapter 8.098 of the Pottawattamie County, Iowa Code delineates the zoning amendment procedure and how the Commission interacts with the Board of Supervisors, in addition to the provisions in the Code of Iowa which govern their actions.
The Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to meet monthly when applications are submitted. The Commission’s meetings are scheduled for the third Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the Board of Supervisor’s Hearing Room.
