Health Education

We work with local schools and community organizations to deliver engaging, evidence-based health education for youth ages 10–19. Our programs foster personal growth, healthy relationships, and informed decision-making—all in support of our goal to help youth lead healthy, empowered lives.

Our Programs

Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP)

PREP helps teens develop life skills and prepare for healthy, successful futures. 

Goals of PREP:

  • Build life skills
  • Strengthen family communication
  • Promote healthy relationships
  • Support academic & career readiness
  • Delay sexual activity
  • Reduce teen pregnancy
  • Reduce STI transmission in adolescents
  • Encourage healthy decisions

Community Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (CAPP)

CAPP promotes youth well-being across Iowa and aims to reduce teen pregnancies — empowering youth and communities to make informed choices through education and engagement. 

In addition to the PREP goals and education topics, CAPP offers:

  • Youth development activities
  • Parent/caregiver workshops
  • Community collaboration & outreach
  • Comprehensive sexual health education 

Our Curriculums 

Curriculums are flexible and can be coordinated with schools and organizations to meet their education priorities. 

Wise Guys (PREP & CAPP)
Comprehensive education program focused on personal values, responsibility, and sexual health.

Draw the Line/Respect the Line (CAPP)
Interactive 3-year curriculum for grades 6–8 promoting respect, personal boundaries, and abstinence. 

Love Notes (CAPP)
A relationship-focused program designed to help teens (including pregnant/parenting youth) make wise life and relationship choices.
