Pottawattamie County is proud to recognize employees who were honored throughout 2025 as part of the county’s Employee Recognition Program. This program celebrates staff members who consistently provide exceptional service to residents, coworkers, and community partners while supporting the policies set by elected and appointed officials. 

By recognizing employees who embody the county’s five core values — service and accountability, ethics and integrity, job knowledge and skills, professionalism, and self-management — Pottawattamie County reinforces its commitment to providing the least intrusive government that serves the best interests of all citizens. These recognition awards serve as a symbol of appreciation for employees whose dedication and professionalism help make Pottawattamie County a great place to live and work. 

Recognizing Excellence Throughout the Year 

Employees were recognized quarterly for demonstrating the county’s core values in their daily work. These recognitions highlight the many ways county employees contribute to effective, accountable government, from direct public service to behind-the-scenes expertise that supports departments and citizens alike. 

Each award category reflects a specific set of values and behaviors that strengthen county operations and public trust. 

Service & Accountability 

Defined by customer service, responsiveness, follow-through, and timeliness. 

Employees recognized in this category consistently lead by example, treat citizens with respect, and help residents navigate county processes with care and accuracy. Their commitment to service ensures that the public receives reliable, timely assistance.

Throughout 2025, participation in the Employee Recognition Program continued to grow, reflecting increased awareness and appreciation for the work being done across county departments. Pottawattamie County encourages employees and members of the public to submit nominations when they see exceptional service in action. 

Annual Employee Recognition Program winners, chosen from the quarterly winners, will be announced and recognized next month. The county extends its sincere congratulations and thanks to all quarterly award recipients for their dedication and service.
