The Wall That Heals is now on display in Pottawattamie County for Memorial Day weekend, offering the community an opportunity to honor and remember those who served during the Vietnam War. The traveling exhibit, a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., is located at Lewis Central High School in Council Bluffs and is open 24 hours a day through 2 pm on Monday, May 25.
Alongside the 375-foot memorial wall, visitors can explore a Mobile Education Center featuring photos, stories, and memorabilia that help tell the story of the Vietnam War and the sacrifices made by more than three million Americans who served. The exhibit bears the names of the 58,281 service members who lost their lives during the conflict.
Community members are encouraged to visit throughout the weekend to experience the exhibit, reflect, and pay tribute to veterans and their families during Memorial Day weekend.
