Meet County Supervisor Keith Jones

Keith Jones was sworn in as a Pottawattamie County Supervisor earlier this month, following his appointment at a special meeting of the appointment committee on December 23, 2025. Jones will serve the remainder of the term, which expires December 31, 2026.

Jones is a retired police lieutenant with the Council Bluffs Police Department and currently works part-time for the Iowa Southern District of the U.S. Marshal Service. He served with the Council Bluffs Police Department for nearly 30 years before retiring in 2022.

A lifelong resident of Pottawattamie County, Jones is a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School and Iowa Western Community College. He earned an accounting degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He has two adult sons.

As a county supervisor, Jones’ stated goals include improving county infrastructure and public safety while maintaining responsible tax levels.
