Pottawattamie County is a member of the Iowa State Association of Counties (ISAC), and proud to participate in their “Behind the 99” campaign. Iowa’s 99 counties are the backbone of the state, yet much of the work that keeps communities safe, healthy, and connected happens quietly behind the scenes.

To bridge this gap in public awareness, ISAC's “Behind the 99” campaign will help educate Iowans about the critical role counties play in their everyday lives. From the gravel roads of rural townships to the busy public health clinics, "Behind the 99" will share the stories of the people and programs that make Iowa a premier place to live and work.

Learn how county services shape your daily life. Share the stories, celebrate the people, and help us elevate the essential work happening in all 99 counties, including Pottawattamie County.
