Pottawattamie County was proud to take part in the Iowa State Association of Counties (ISAC) 99-County Tour this week, joining in the initiative for all counties across Iowa to participate in discussions about collaboration, communication, and the future of county government.
ISAC represents all 99 counties in Iowa, advocating for more than 15,000 county employees and providing resources in areas such as communications, legislative affairs, technology, and training. During the visit, ISAC representatives shared updates on ongoing initiatives, including legislative priorities, upcoming conferences, and member support tools available to counties.
Among the highlights were discussions on developing county-level AI policies, improving public outreach and education around property taxes, and exploring efficiency opportunities without sacrificing essential local services. ISAC staff also emphasized the importance of proactive communication and sharing county success stories, an area where Pottawattamie County continues to focus on through strategic storytelling and community engagement.
The visit served as a reminder that while every Iowa county faces unique challenges, collaboration and shared innovation remain key to delivering efficient, effective public service.
