Download Data
Pottawattamie County GIS data is available to download in GIS formats via our OpenData portal the Iowa GIS Data Repository. The Data Repository allows all Iowa counties to upload and share GIS datasets, so if you are looking for data for other counties as well, this is a valuable resource. Users can save copies in file geodatabase or shapefile formats. Attribute tables, such as Owner, Address, and Parcel Information, are also available for download.
How?
- Visit our OpenData Portal
- Visit Iowa GIS Data Repository
- Register and browse to "County" then "Pottawattamie" and then "Open"
- The information is updated twice a month (if the data changes, parcels, owners, etc - not contours, hydro layers, etc)
- Most data is in Iowa State Plane South NAD83 Ft
- Aerial photos of our region (3" & 6" resolution) are available to purchase through MAPA (Nebraska and Iowa regional counties partner with MAPA for aerial photos)
Data consumption via GIS Web Mapping Services
Users with GIS software, CAD software, or Mapping API developers can also access and use the County's GIS Web Mapping Services. These are available from our GIS Portal.
