COVID-19 Vaccination Update

Posted February 5, 2021
Posted by Planning and Development

On Wednesday, Matt Wyant, Pottawattamie County planning and development director spoke with Omaha's News Talk 1290 KOIL radio station about vaccination progress on our side of the Missouri River.

Phase 1B began on February 1 for Iowans 65 and older, first responders, and educators. Wyant shares how the county has partnered with area pharmacies, allocating vaccine doses for them to distribute to those eligible. He also discussed the vaccine shortage.

"We have approximately 30,000 members of our community who meet that 1B criteria, and we're only receiving anywhere from 600 to 13,000 of vaccine doses per week," Wyant says in the interview. "But that's getting ready to increase coming into this next week which is good."
