Go Wild For Conservation in 2020!

Looking for a great way to show your support of low impact recreation, environmental education, & land stewardship in Pottawattamie County? Join us for 2020 fundraising event, Go Wild For Conservation, September 17th through October 1st.

This entirely online event combines education, fun & fundraising spread out over the course of two weeks. Participants will have the opportunity to view special, behind-the-scenes videos to learn more about the important work done by Pottawattamie Conservation. Our online auction is chock full of terrific items including:

What Kind of Bird is That? - This bird watching package has everything you need to head out on your adventure to search for birds. The package includes: An Osprey Daylight Pack Special Edition, Vortex Vanquish 8x26 binoculars, Birds of Iowa Pocket Guide and Raptor Pocket Guide, Hitchcock Nature Center Pocket Guide, Kaufman Guide to Birds of North America, a Hitchcock water bottle, a certificate to a t-shirt at the Loess Hills Lodge gift shop and a certificate to 2 spots in one of the Building Better Birders programs for 2021. 

Dutch Oven Cooking 101 - This is a PRIVATE 1.5+ hour program for up to 5 people. Learn the basics of cooking with a dutch oven and the tips and techniques needed to use this tool. Then enjoy the fruits of your labor with a delicious meal and ideas to make in your very own dutch oven. Enjoy this program at the park of your choice. This includes a 12" cast iron dutch oven with legs and rimmed lid.

Nature's Bounty - Have you ever wondered what elk meat tastes like? Here is 30 lb. of elk meat. It will be available for pickup in March/April 2021.
