This unique series of monthly programs will be held entirely online & is perfect for anyone interested in cultivating a better understanding of the natural world outside their own front door. Designed & taught by biologist & Aldo Leopold scholar Ron Cisar, participants of this programming series will gain a deeper understanding of our local ecosystems through study and discussion of seasonal ecology & will connect with others who share a passion for nature.
Our program series kicks off with a free, online, introductory session entitles "A Good Oak" at 9:00 a.m. on February 27th. This event is designed to introduce participants to our larger programming series, with an exploration of our Loess Hills ecosystems & an introduction to conservationist & philosopher Aldo Leopold, who's work will guide our program throughout the year. This introductory program is free for all attendees & is intended for anyone age 14 & over with an interest in the natural world, no experience or prior knowledge is required to participate.
